File Hosting Service that fits the requirements?

September 9th, 2011 1 comment

Question: I need a file hosting service the fits the requirements below:

I need to be able to host at LEAST 2Gigs of file space
The service must have an http url where the files are located
The service must have a ‘Download page’ and all the download links (not links to the download page, links that you click on and it starts the download) are on that page.
It must be Free
It Must have unlimited or a lot of bandwith, and no cost involved

Why do they have to fit the requirements? Well the first on is pretty obvious but the second and third are so that they can be interogated with my automatic updating software. The last are pretty obvious as well.

Is there a file hosting site that gives download links as actual file names? (like http://www.a.com/file.exe)?

September 6th, 2011 3 comments

Question: I’m looking for a file hosting site that gives out download links as actual file names after one uploads a file (versus links to pages that you can download at).

For example, if I uploaded a file named "file.exe", to this website, it’d upload as http://www.website.com/file.exe and I’d be given the link.

Question: I run a community non-profit club, and I would like to broadcast some live events that we host, it will be for few days a year, few hours a day, I already have a website that can handle the on-demand file viewing. I’m looking for a live video stream provider that can give me a good quality service with an affordable price; of course I don’t want adv. to be displayed on my broadcasting screen. I’m not looking for interactive nor fancy features.

What is the best online server space to rent/buy?

Question: I have documents I would desire to back up online, and also host a website (in the same space). Where is the best deal (most space and time for least money) online that will let me upload a bunch of files for safe keeping (just sitting on the server next to the website, but not linked to) and also, separately, create a domain name and upload a website?

File hosting with direct links that doesn't delete every 30-60 days…??

September 4th, 2011 1 comment

Question: Hi everyone. I use projectplaylist.com for my myspace playlist, but all the links kept breaking. So I decided to try using a file hosting site so I knew the links wouldn’t be taken down, but every one I’ve tried (fileden, filelodge, mp3tunes, mediamax/linkup, snapdrive, vixy, savefile, musicuploader, etc) either don’t give direct html .mp3 links like projectplaylist requires, or they automatically delete all files/links every 30, 60, or 90 days. Does anyone have any file hosting sites that give direct links and that keep the files indefinitely (or at least longer than 30-90 days)? I’d prefer a free hosting site, but if I have to, I’ll pay a small monthly fee. Thanks for your help.
I already tried that one, as stated in my post. They remove their files every 30 days if you don’t log in. I need a hosting site that doesn’t do that.
